Commonly Asked Questions
1) How does Acupuncture work?
By needling acupuncture points, the flow of energy, nutrients, and
blood can reach organs which are in a state of dysfunction. This
enables the organ to function properly.
2) How many needles do you use during a treatment?
The amount of needles selected depends upon the condition. Generally
for pain syndromes involving muscles and tendons more needles are
used. Illnesses with organ and meridian dysfunctions requires less
needling..
3) How many sessions will I need?
It depends upon the organ and meridian systems affected. Certain
organs require more frequent treatment sessions. To obtain good
results, the patient should comply with the treatment frequency. Most
people feel better within 6 sessions.
4) How long do you retain the needles?
To obtain maximum benefit from acupuncture needle retention time is
very important. Needle retention time is unique for each person and
condition.
In general, needles may be retained for 10-30 minutes. Not all cases are the same.
5) Does Acupuncture Hurt?
Acupuncture is not like getting shots. Generally most people feel a
slight pinch during insertion of the needle. After the intial
